Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost to attend?

No. The sessions are designed to help any small to mid-size advanced manufacturing company in Ontario kick start innovation. There is no charge although we do ask that you commit to attending and let us know if you change your plans. The sessions are sponsored by ABB and the RIC Centre (Research Innovation Commercialization). RIC was founded to support innovation and development in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon. Seven program partners are also providing resources and promotion.

What if I can’t commit until the last minute?span>

There is a cap on attendance of 50 but if you are interested, please let us know so we can reserve you a space. We will confirm a few days ahead. If interested in attending at the last minute, let us know. We can always add you if there is space.

What if I can’t attend every session?

It’s okay. You can attend one, or all of them, depending on your time and interest.

Is there any catch? I mean, will we obligated to support the sponsors?

No. The sponsors and program partners are here as resources to support your efforts to nurture innovation within your company. Once you’ve attended a session, the entrepreneur in residence at RIC, Tim Scott, is available for advice whenever you need it, without any cost or obligation on your part.

How do I know if this program is right for our company?

When you contact us, we will call you and ask questions to ensure that the Innovate Forward sessions are a good fit for you. This helps guarantee that the group assembled is a peer-to-peer network with information and resources relevant to your situation.

How can you expect busy entrepreneurs to make the time for 6 sessions?

The program is designed to accommodate companies that are already stretched for time and resources. That’s why each session is held for just two hours first thing in the morning, and packed with practical tips and tools that you can use right away.
