During these entrepreneur seminars, three guest speakers (an academic, an industry specialist and an entrepreneur) present their expert advice, followed by a panel discussion. With 2015 coming to an end, RIC Centre would like to invite you to review the past year and take a glimpse into the “Connected World” that 2016 could become. This event will introduce you to the most highly anticipated tech trends related to the Internet of Things and how these trends could apply to the industry you work in. 1. Greg Dashwood – Product Lead Internet of Things & Advanced Analytics, Microsoft Canada

For the past 5 years, Greg has been leading Microsoft Canada’s marketing analytics practice, driving multiple strategic initiatives including propensity account driven targeting and marketing, predictive modelling for customer and consumer behavior and ensuring campaign ROI metrics are defined and measurable. Working closely with both the sales and marketing teams, Greg has leveraged analytics to support the sales organization to drive considerable impact in account growth and $45.5M pipeline/lead generation for the marketing organization in the most recent fiscal year. All this leveraging a broad range of MS analytical tools including SQL Server, PowerBI and Azure Machine Learning. He also recently drove company-wide efforts to ensure compliance with the new Canadian Anti-Spam Law, ensuring Microsoft Canada systems, processes and people are well positioned to be legally compliant.

Currently, Greg leads the IoT and Advanced Analytics team – where he will head up Microsoft’s marketing strategy and business operations to land the Internet of Things and advanced analytics with Canadian customers.

He has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto and has varied, in depth experience across both the technical aspects of analytics as well as the application to marketing strategy and execution.

3. Av Utukuri – Executive Chairman/CTO, Baanto and CEO/CTO, Nytric Ltd.

Av Utukuri - picAvanindra (Av) Utukuri founded Nytric in 1999 and, as CEO, is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s business vision. His twelve years of extensive business and technology experience include the development and marketing of high-tech products for commercial and consumer applications.

As Nytric’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Utukuri is involved in design and management projects in a variety of areas, including commercial robotics, large-volume consumer electronics, simulator systems for the Department of Defense, and the development of patented technologies.

Prior to joining Nytric, Mr. Utukuri served as President and CEO of Dynamic Visions Ltd., a technology company that developed virtual reality simulation systems and arcade entertainment systems. As co-founder of Dynamic Visions, he was responsible for developing and managing the company’s entire product line and, ultimately, for taking the company public on NASDAQ:OTCBB.

Mr. Utukuri is a graduate of the Engineering Science program of the University of Toronto.
