Last chance to Nominate for the 2013 Manning Innovation Awards November 28, 2012 RICCentre There are 5 days until nominations close for the 2013 Manning Innovation Awards at midnight on Monday, December 3, 2012. Each year, the Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation awards a $100,000 Principal Award, a $25,000 Award of Distinction and two $10,000 Innovation Awards. To qualify as nominee, applicants must be Canadian citizens and residents of Canada who have demonstrated recent innovative talent in developing and successfully marketing a new concept, process or procedure. After qualifying as successful nominees, applications then go through reviews by qualified experts recruited to provide insight on the uniqueness and degree of innovation of the various works nominated. They are then submitted to the Foundation’s independent selection committee whose membership is drawn from academia and the professions. Awards will be presented at the Foundation’s 2013 Annual Innovation Awards gala in front of an audience of Canadian leaders in Calgary, October 17, 2013. About Manning Awards: The Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation has been recognizing and supporting Canadian innovators of all ages since 1982. By means of a nomination, Canadian resident citizens, who have demonstrated recent innovative talent in developing and successfully marketing a new concept, process or procedure, may be eligible for one of four Manning Innovation Awards Principal Award ($100,000); David E. The Young Canadian Program, introduced in 1992, recognizes eight innovative projects selected by a team of judges at the annual Canada-Wide Science Fair. Each project receives $500, which is presented at the Science Fair award ceremonies. A further judging process then selects four projects from the eight to receive $4,000 Manning Young Canadian Innovation Awards at our Annual National Awards Gala.
