Introducing RIC Centre’s new series, Beyond Business Basics. This series will help entrepreneurs and innovators develop their ideas to commercial businesses. Bringing local expert speakers with real-world experience, attendees will have the chance to gain practical tips and techniques.
The Region of Peel, the second largest municipality in Ontario, is a model of innovation. Each city within the Region is evolving fast. As Peel’s Regional Innovation Centre, RIC Centre’s mission is to facilitate the growth of startups in the Region and contribute to that evolution along with our community partners.
In 2018-19, RIC Centre’s Beyond Business Basics presents a fresh series with a fresh goal, aiming to reach out to members of the Peel Region community. It is a new collaboration with Peel ONE partners, including the Economic Development Offices of the City of Mississauga, City of Brampton and Town of Caledon.
With the Beyond Business Basics series, we hope to build on the great programs already offered by the Region’s Small Business Enterprise Centres (SBECs).
The series will be split into three themes:
- Launching A Startup
- Sales and Marketing for Startups
- Raising Startup Funding
By inviting expert speakers with real-world experience, entrepreneurs and small business owners can develop the skills to build a successful business.
Of the 1.17 million employer businesses in Canada, 98% are small businesses. This year is not about staying within the borders of RIC Centre but about engaging with the broader community and the businesses that drive economic development in the Peel Region.
The first Beyond Business Basics is on April 19, 2018 and will cover the topic of the Business Model Canvas and how this document can help you structure your business model, value proposition and more. You can get your tickets here.
