Lunch & Learn: Prepare Your Business for Canada’s New Privacy Policies

October 23, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

On November 1st, 2018, Canada will adopt and enforce many of the GDPR regulations. Are you ready?

If you run a business and communicate with potential and current customers, you will have to comply with these changes. The new regulations will enforce mandatory data breach disclosure similar to GDPR.

This session is meant to inform start-ups and how you understand how to prepare for the changing information privacy landscape in Canada.

Join us and hear from Rishan Lye, Partner, BDO Consulting IT Solutions and learn more about how to protect your business and your customers.

Rishan Lye is a partner in BDO’s Technology Practice, with over 15 years of professional experience engineering and architecting large-scale technology solutions. He leads BDO’s technology practice and is responsible for advising clients in emerging technologies, IT strategy, enterprise architecture, systems integration, cloud enablement, cybersecurity and business intelligence.

Rishan is also a member of BDO’s Natural Resources group that services over 100 customers in mining and oil & gas. He has helped some of the largest global mining companies in Brazil, Chile, Tanzania, South Africa, USA and Australia roll out analytics solutions and enterprise systems.

In addition to mining, Rishan has worked closely with large telecom and financial services organizations to provide advisory services, and lead teams in implementation projects. He has advised governments on cloud strategy, including the cloud-based implementation of one of the largest government offshore registers.
